You can download several free, user-friendly, basic video editors from the internet. Check out YouTube for tips on how to use the software you download.
  • Make it with PowerPoint. You can download free software that will convert a PowerPoint presentation into a video file.
  • Use the webcam feature on the Live Green Toronto Awards website. This feature allows you to create a video by recording what's visible on your webcam, and you can then upload it directly to the Awards site. Learn how to use the webcam feature now..

Tips for entrants

  • Enter early and vote often! The earlier you enter, the more time you have to gather votes.
  • Use Twitter, Facebook and other social media to share your video with friends, family and colleagues and ask them to vote for you.
  • Make sure your video and written submission answer this question: What makes you one of Toronto's greenest? If it is informative and entertaining, all the better.
  • When selecting music to include in your video, opt for royalty-free music, unless you have the proper permissions to use a copyrighted piece of music. Search the internet for royalty-free music available for download free of charge.
  • Vote for your favourites as often as once a day.
